Healthy nutrition for kids – mission possible with Bonduelle

As part of our Back to School campaign of Bonduelle, we managed to organize fun workshops on healthy eating for over 250 children from private kindergartens and schools in the city of Sofia, aged 4 to 7 years – a period in which the habits of daily consumption of a variety of fruits and vegetables are created.

Each workshop started with an intriguing crossword, which the children solved together with the actress Nadia Novoselska. She told them interesting facts about different vegetables and fruits, shared with them which vitamins and minerals it contains and how it is useful for our body. Then, divided into two groups, the children arranged large puzzles on which various fruits and vegetables were depicted. The little ones looked at them and shared who liked to eat what the most. We also talked about seasonal vegetables and the possibility of consuming them frozen or canned during the autumn-winter period. Children learned that if they want to be healthy and strong, their daily plate should contain vegetables of different colors and the more colorful, the more healthy.

After the games, our “painting” with food began. Each child had the opportunity to make a beautiful and delicious drawing on their plate using Bonduelle’s canned vegetables – corn, peas, beets, beans, green beans, sprouts, chickpeas, mushrooms and pickles. Children unleashed their imaginations and created real masterpieces – people, animals, flowers, even favorite cartoon characters. We took pictures for keepsakes (and to show mom and dad, of course), and then everyone happily ate their creation. Some were more skeptical but decided to give it a try anyway. And it was a real reward for the work of the whole team – when a child exclaims: “Ha, the beetroot was very sweet… I wasn’t drunk” or “Now I’m going to eat spinach every day to be strong like Popeye the Sailor” 😊

At the end of the workshop, Tsarevichko Sladkopeev arrived, who personally handed each child a gift – a small can of Bonduelle corn, a plush toy, a balloon, a weekly school program, a smoothie cup (for the first graders) and the book “The Adventurers of Bonduellia”, in which, in addition to the exciting story of Mushroom, Bobolina, Cambigno and Fasulino, there are games, stickers and of course delicious and fun recipes that parents can prepare with their children at home.

The initiative enjoyed great interest not only from the children, but also from their teachers and parents, because they educate, but also entertain the little ones a lot by showing them the variety of delicious and useful Bonduelle vegetables, which are also suitable for fun games.
