At the invitation of the US energy company AES, the ”Travelling classroom – Earth Balloon” – an interactive training programme in social science, natural sciences and environmental protection, is visiting the municipality of Galabovo. The educational project, concerning the area of environmental protection and sustainable development was professionally organized by the team of InterConnection. „The Balloon” is an inflated vinyl globe with 6,5 m diameter and is a model of the terrestrial globe based on satellite shots, funded under the “Europe” 2000 Programme of the European Commission.

There, through demonstrations and plays, more than 450 children from the town of Galabovo and from the village of Obruchishte, learned more about the planet Earth and about environmental issues, such as: water, soil and air pollution, climate change, loss of biodiversity and the reasons behind these.
